November

Hi!

Before Christmas fully takes over — the lights, the music, the cozy nights by the tree — I wanted to pause for a moment.

This time of year always fills me with excitement, but in the quiet stretch between Halloween and the holidays, I find myself thinking about the families who spend this season apart. I come from a long line of military service, and while I’m forever grateful for their dedication, I know the ache that comes with empty seats and waiting hearts. It’s something that never really leaves you — even as the twinkle lights go up.

But there’s comfort in that, too. Gratitude and joy can live side by side. So while I hold space for those memories, I’m also ready to lean into all the little things that make this season so special — the smell of baking, the soft glow of the tree, the chaos of decorating. Maybe you’re the type to let everyone hang ornaments wherever they please, or maybe you’re like me… rearranging them once everyone’s gone to bed and then just sitting there, staring at your work with a smile.

However you do it, I hope you take time to really be in it — to pause, to breathe, to savour the good.

That’s what The Cookie Date is here for too. A small reminder to slow down, share a treat, enjoy the flavours and soak up the warmth of being together.
